Hotel Description

33 rooms, 4 floors

Vanderbilt Grace Luxury Hotel is a quintessential Newport mansion that in recent years has been restored to its former glory. Built by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt in 1909, the former Vanderbilt Hall is just half a block from bustling Thames Street and the rest of historic Newport. Newport is a very pedestrian-friendly city and many of the nearby attractions, including Newport Harbor, are within walking distance. The Vanderbilt Grace mansion comprises a luxurious hotel with 33 rooms and suites. Several of these rooms can be interconnected with other suites, making them ideal for large families or groups of friends. Each room features a kitchenette, flat-screen TV premium cable and satellite channels, free wireless internet, a CD/DVD player, coffee maker, and microwave. The boutique hotel has two swimming pools. The outdoor pool is alongside the garden terrace at the rear of the hotel. Despite being so close to Newport town centre, it provides a haven away from the bustling crowds and is a perfect sun-trap in the summer. The stunning indoor pool is a most tranquil oasis below groundfloor level and alongside the spa and fitness center, a distinguished space housing a generously proportioned pool. If your idea of the perfect escape is to relax and restore body and soul, then a visit to the Vanderbilt Grace's Spa will be an essential part of your stay. Guests will enjoy the exquisite treatment rooms, sauna, and steam showers of The Spa. The gym offers free weights as well as state-of-the-art fitness equipment with built-in cable TVs and computerized workout programs. Vanderbilt Grace offers two restaurants and a terrace garden including Muse, a new fine-dining restaurant created by renowned New England chef, Jonathan Cartwright. Muse delivers international food and wine while paying homage to many of the local culinary traditions of Rhode Island. An all-day room service menu is available.
