Flamingo Foul
I would rate the Flamingo a 1 (10 being excellent) and that is only because the lights were on and the air conditioning (in room) worked. I have not been to Vegas in a number of years and it has obviously been as many since any attempt at remodeling this property has happened. The carpets were disgusting throughout hotel, the convention spaces were stuffy and poorly lit, there was no drinking water available ANYWHERE and we couldn't even get coffee delivered in the morning!? The common areas were run down and dirty and the staff was sub-par. The pool was the only redeeming feature; although it hadn't been cleaned and the water slides were abandoned with moss growing. It was unfortunate the staff only allowed two towels per customer around pool because I am positive that wasn't enough of a health barrier between me and the aged lounge chairs.
A Horirible Hotel
I had a terrible experience with Flamingo hotel. I recently stayed in this hotel for 2 days. The room was disgusting and dirty. It is hard to believe it is a hotel room. I asked the front desk to change the room for us. But they refused to do that, only push me to upgrade a high level room with an unfair rate. The supervisor is rude. This hotel is my nightmare in this travel. Won't stay here again.
Rejuvinated
The rooms we stayed in were recently redone and very nice. Hallways and casinos were clean and refreshed. Personnel were helpful and friendly. We would stay here again if in Las Vegas.
Big Bang for your Buck
While I WAS offered a room upgrade at check-in, I found my standard room to do the trick for me and then some. The room was clean, housekeeping did an EXCELLENT job each morning of refreshing the room and bathroom, plus with the hotel itself being so central to the entire Strip (especially with the Monorail station being out back), the Flamingo is in my mind the ideal home base for a Vegas stay any time of the year. Their better-than-average buffet restaurant has picture window seating alongside the Flamingo Sanctuary which offers an amazing variety of flamingos, swans, ducks and other birds as well as a wide range of coi swimming throughout a winding waterway with waterfalls, palm trees and rich foliage- a tremendous way to take the edge off after a long afternoon of Vegas activity. And with in-house entertainment ranging from a phenominal casino to Bugsey's Cabaret to their main Showroom, The Flamingo has got a lot of kick to offer any visitor to Las Vegas. Book me again in 2010.
