The Westin Denarau Island Resort and Spa

I stayed at the hotel in January and my cousins, my 2 girls and I had a great time. From the Restaurants, Breakfast brunch, rooms, customer service, shuttle services-everything was awesome. I will love to stay there again. Nice pools and spa as well. They have a kids activities center and my little one enjoyed it a lot. I would greatly recommend anyone to stay there.

Having recently returned from a stay at the Westin in Fiji, we were disappointed with the standard of room. Having stayed at Westin hotel's before, we were expecting a certain standard that was not met at the Westin Fiji. The rooms were still very tired with the only concession we could find to the Westin standards being the heavenly bed, the flat screen tv and the heavenly shower head (double shower head fitted over the old bath) It did not appear that the bathrooms had been upgraded at all with chipped tiles and the old over the bath shower. The air conditioning unit was also very noisy but obviously necessary to use with the heat. The rooms were still rather dark. With upgraded bathrooms and the room being lightened up, it would improve the rooms immensely.\nAs we had our 10 month old son with us, it was difficult to get out in the evenings. So we were reliant on a limited room service menu. My husband did go to the pasta kitchen a couple of nights to get us salad and tapas, but this was a difficult experience with them not being accomodating to "take away" meals!!\nOn a positive note, the heavenly bed is "heavenly" and HUGE!! The surrounds were beautiful and the front pool was lovely as was the new lap pool set over by a very comprehensive gym. Definitely the best gym I have ever used in a hotel.\nThere was plenty of space around the starwood properties for you to get a good variety of experiences with the pools and if you wanted adult only time, no children were allowed in the lap pool.\nAs another tip, if you can possibly afford it, have some extra room if you are taking a child or children.

Denarau Marina

The Denarau Marina has undergone an amazing transformation. There are numerous new shops there and a nice break out of the resort. There is a supermarket, icecream shop, couple of restaurants and more shops to be opened. It is about a 30 minute walk from the Westin or you can jump on the Denarau shuttle to take you there (depart about every 15 minutes "Fiji Time") Just watch what direction the shuttle is going in or you could go the long way around!
