A great place to stay
The Hyatt Regency was a wonderful hotel, in a great location, near shopping, easily accessible to the port, the ferry, the buses. We were within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see. The staff was very helpful with directions and questions. The amenities were beautiful. Our suite was spacious and great. It overlooked Albert Park and had a beautiful view. We had complimentary fruit, wine and cake in our room a nice touch! The Hop on, Hop off bus was close by and a great way to travel the city. The food at the hotel was very expensive, so you would want to eat in the downtown area where there is a large variety of restaurants. I would recommend this hotel in a minute.
Hyatt Auckland
Great expereince. Room and king bed were very comfortable. Customer service outstanding. Manager was very responsive to an issue that came up during our stay. Although we weren't in the Viaduct area we could see the harbour from the room, which was very nice. Only negative was the cost of Internet per day, should be included in the price of the room, or the use of the busines center by guests should not incur a cost.
Very nice stay
Overnighted from the airport. Comfortable room. Wonderful bed! Conveniently located near downtown and adjacent to the university. Easy walking to restaurants and parks (but there are hills). Breakfast included anything you might want. Our only concern that, as swimmers, we would have preferred a warmer pool. We would stay again, especially at the low rate surprising for this nice a facility.
Overall, quite good
We arrived before check in time, but they found another room for us if we wanted it. It was near the elevator, and they said it may be noisy, but we heard nothing. The staff was very friendly and professional. They were helpful to first time visitors by offering points of interest, providing maps of downtown, arranging shuttle and cab service, and were just generally courteous. The location was perfect., about 3 blocks from Queen Street. It was close, but not so close that it was noisy outside the room. The only real downside was the price of the restaurant food. The breakfsats were good, but very, very expensive. All of the food was very expensive. The room itself was smallish, but nice. Good bed, clean room, all necessary amenities. We stayed on the 9th fllor and never heard anything but the wind and rain. The next time we go to Auckland, I expect we'll stay here again, but eat elsewhere.

Just before queen street
As you walk to the central business district, there are a couple streets just on the hotel side of Queen street that have some nice small pubs. Good beer, decent food, cheaper than the hotel.
overall
The staff was superb. Beds were extremely comfortable and the pool and spa were awesome. If you can get the Regency Club continental breakfast and or'dorves, both are worth it. Location was across the street from the university and walking distance to shopping. (about 20-25 minutes from the Viaduct) We stayed here 2 nights and actually returned from Rotoura for 2 more nights. I have no negatives at all about this lovely hotel and their staff.

museum
I highly reccommend the Auckland Museum but don't forget to tour the 2nd level with the volcanoes. One may want to take a bus or taxi from the Hyatt to the museum. - Type:Area Attractions Distance: Short walk from hotel
