Not worth the money!

Anonymous from Dallas, TX – Wouldn't stay again

If all your interested in is being close to the ski lifts this is your hotel. Other than that we were very disappointed. The heater in the room would not turn off. We called maintenance each day and they sent someone out that couldn't fix the problem. We spent 4 days in a room that was so hot we had to leave the doors open. The village is very loud at night with people walking around so you won't sleep very much. The staff was not helpful and didn't know much about the area. They couldn't even recommend a grocery store close by.

A comfortable and very enjoyable stay!

Squaw Valley is about a 45 min drive from South Lake Tahoe, so it's not an ideal commute if you plan on spending much time at the major casinos or in Nevada. Squaw Valley itself has quite a bit to offer. We went in the summer during a festival and the atmosphere was amazing. The Village at Squaw is located right on top of shopping, restaurants and groceries,?next to the ski slopes entrance and nestled away in the heart of Squaw Valley. The suite we got was quiet, extremely clean and comfortable - almost a home away from home! It came with a fully stocked kitchen, a fireplace and a DVD player - perfect for a small family. The rates were comparable to the upper end South Lake Tahoe properties and even though it was a little pricey, it was well worth the stay. We didn't use many of the other resort amenities, but this place really made our trip!

Nice suite to stay at

Frank W. from San Jose, CA – Would stay again

My second stay at this hotel during the summer. With my family love to go rafting nearby, this hotel offers a unique privacy walk to our vehicle while we are in swimming gear because of its high security enclosed parking lot. Very comfortable room and bed with kitchen to cook. And is the only hotel that I know of that lets your kids play Xbox or Playstation 2 games for free.

Squaw Valley Resort

Glen B. from San Antonio, TX – Would stay again
Stayed Jul 2008, 2 days

Quiet time of the year(July) for resort but relaxing. The rooms were very generous with all the conveniences. Only things lacking is a movie channel and air conditioning, a must to consider. Dining restaurants were plentiful and excellent food and service. Gondola charge for recreation was too excessive $* an adult $*for way down, would of rather stayed at Lake for proximity purposes for greater recreational variety. Overall nice bang for the buck in the dead of summer, great place to chill and dog friendly.

Biking or River rafting

Rent bikes in Tahoe city, better selection and quality vs. Factory Bikes at base of squaw. No real mtn biking over here, goto Northstar for free lifts and great mtn biking downhill. Rafting was expensive, many brought their own or bought rafts/ floatation devices at local stores, just as much fun unless a huge group. Bike trails are paved and are family friendly and jogger friendly. Bring your fly rod!
