Hotel Phillips

The hotel room had no heat the first night and then the second day they sent someone to fix it. They fixed and when they did a billion dust bunnies flew out all over the room. Then when we checked in there were no bottles of water the first and second day and on the third day at 7:30 at night someone brought two botttles of water to the room then when I get my bill I am charged for the water I never got or used. It does not say on the web site that they do not have a parking lot for your car its all valet parking and then they charge you for valet parking, I will not ever stay at this hotel again. Also for the money we paid for the room they do not provide wireless internet you have to pay extra for that in your room but they have wireless free in the lobby and resturant. does not make any sense to me.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in the last 40 years. It is very old and shows it. The wall paper is coming off the wall, the carpet in the hall and our room was terribly stained. The furniture was also stained and when I tried to turn the cushion to hide the stain, the underside was stained worse. The door to our room would hardly shut, the shower curtain was mildewed, and the surface of the tub was flaking off. The caulking around the tub looked like it was done by a 10 year old. After the first night there the maid never replaced the soap nor cleaned the soap dishes. One day she didn't clean, just made the bed and emptied the trash. When I complained about the maid the receptionist. shrugged and said "sorry about that" My guess is they are about to close or sell this place. It would be impossible not to see how dreadful it has become. This place is scary.

Booked at the last minute for a trip to KC and was really impressed. The decor is classic art deco and beautifully done throughout the entire hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful and will make recommendations regarding restaurants and the like. The whole experience was tasteful and pleasant without being pretentious. You cannot have a better location as it is at the corner of the light and power district right down the street from the great AMC theatre. Had a great experience and would go back in a second

Stayed at this hotel for the weekend and had a great stay. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very accomodating. Also, the hotel is two blocks away from the Power & Light District, which is a place that has a bunch of restaurants and bars.

The hotel was great! The staff was uber-helpful and knowledgeable, and the room was lovely. OK, the bathroom was small and a bit dark, but it's an old hotel. The beautiful thing about an old hotel is that it's Quiet!
