Marigot Bay Hotel

I couldn't ask for a more perfect, picturesque resort. From the moment we arrived the staff was very pleasant. We had a very late arrival- after midnight and we were brought complimentary sandwiches. The views from our upgraded suite were spectacular! The property at Discovery is breathtaking, cobblestone walkways, with beautiful flowers and palm trees. The rooms have wood flooring, vaulted wood ceiling?s, ours had a poster bed with netting, LCD television, very modern bathroom, with walk-in shower, and the kitchen/living room area was very modern. We had a view of the main pool and beautiful bay. My fianc? and I were married here on July 23, 2008. Everything was taken care of in advance, our wedding coordinator Vicky took care of all the details via e-mail (she always responded quickly), and was so helpful. Vicky with whom I can?t say enough about, she was fantastic!!! We even had some last minute upgrades and she took care of everything, no problem. The pool with swim-up bar was everyone?s favorite (we had 6 other guests that booked with us at Discovery and everyone loved the resort). The views from the pool were awesome. The wait staff was very friendly and made us feel like royalty. I can?t say enough about this beautiful resort, we plan to re-visit on our 5th anniversary if not sooner.

There wasn't much of a need to leave the resort, as the food was very good. We went to "Doolittles" accross the Bay, however the service was very slow (over 2 hours before we were served dinner after ordering) the food was good, but the food at Discovery was better and service much faster.

I just stayed at the Discovery at Marigot Bay on St. Lucia with my kids and loved it!!!!! The rooms are to die for and the view is incredible. It is so peaceful and relaxed, and the staff is out of this world! It is a little piece of heaven in a quiet bay where they filmed the pink snail scene from Doctor Doolittle. It has all the amenities of a hotel right down to the amazing robes and Kiehl's toiletries but you feel like you are staying in a private luxury treehouse the way they are built into the side of the hills with the mosquito netting on the huge canopy beds and the cathedral ceilings with tropical fans. (The swim up bar at the pool is not too shabby either!)This is my number one vacation destination from now on! A big thanks to M, W, B, singin R, J P, P, and of course J!! Audra, Brett, and Kiki

The Balck Pearl

Take the kids to Pirates Day on the Brig Unicorn on Saturday. It was one of the ships used in the Pirates of the caribbean movies and was a blast!

My husband and I just returned from St. Lucia on Saturday night. I can't say enough about the hotel and the staff. We had a great time although rainy season we have perfect weather every day except a few sprinkles the first day. Due to rainy season the hotel was pretty much empty there were probably a total of 10 guests or so during our stay. It was great we pretty much had everything to ourselves. \nThe hotel provides excursions, but check around with other guests or even the guys down by the Mariana. We ended up saving money booking private tours directly. You really don't have to leave the hotel the food was fabulous (best we had on the island) and we love to eat on vacation. The ferry takes you back and forth (it?s free) to the other restaurants in the bay. I wish there was a little more variety. Just be prepared to take cab rides or boat trips to other parts of the island because you can?t walk anywhere. Under no circumstances rent a car. We decided at the last minute to rent a car. HUGE MISTAKE. The roads a very windy (and we took the less windy route) no edge or center lines, no speed limit. The locals walk in the roads and they pass you going around corners I guess just hoping no one is there. It was very scary we were lucky we made it to the hotel. It was so bad the turned the car back in on Monday when the rental car place opened back up. Note-most everything is closed on Sunday.

We arrived at discovery by accident. We had booked a villa in a different area of St. Lucia and it was awful. We called Discovery and they did have rooms available. This was the best thing that could have happened. This resort is beautiful. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful the ENTIRE staff was. Everyone was so helpful to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. This resort has great rooms, great pools, the food at the restaurant is really good. If you are looking to relax and have everyone take care of you this is the place to go. Room service was excellent. My only suggestion would be for the resort to start its own dive shop as the one we used was not very helpful and did not offer much service. This was the best accident ever.

Our hotel Discovery, was excellent. clean, friendly, beautiful bathroom. Great food and wonderful location.
