Inner Harbor Weekend Review

Anonymous from Saint Clair, PA – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Jun 2009, 2 days Most Recent Stay

The hotel was very nice upon first glance it looked very elegant, the restraunts were well done and everyone was well dressed and well mannered. The first problem that we had was when we asked the concierge at the front desk about parking he was very vague and left us even more confused. He then gave us our room key and told us what that evenings events were which was nice of him. He was very polite. After going thruogh the debacle of parking my fiance and I got our bags and made our way to our rooms which we found we needed our key to put in the elevator to go to our room which was not explained it took me a minute. Once we got into our room the rooms were done very nicely, a harbor view just like we'd asked for but there was no fridge just a small card reminding us that these are your waters and you are being charged 9.95 for them whether they are opened or not. DRINK UP!!! After driving for a good portion of the day I deicided to lay down to take a rest I turned on the tv the remote was very non responsive. On the 2nd day of our trip my fiance was taking a shower as she turned the shower knob on it fell off. The staff throughout the course of the weekend were very nice and pleasent but some of the flaws overshadowed that. I could get pasted the remote control because for as much as we were in the room it didn't really matter but the fridge, the shower knob, and the parking hurt.

Great location but..........

Robert S. from Cherry Hill, NJ – Would stay again
Stayed Nov 2008, 2 days

This hotel is in a great location for most of the area attractions.....acquarium, Nat'l science center, ESPN Zone, great restaurants etc. Front desk people are very nice and will try to help you with any concerns you may encounter. Decent continental breakfast for free or you can get a meal off the menu for $5. ""Crabby Hour"" was fun and we got to sample some good food as well as beer and wine on the house. Nice lobby with relaxing furniture as well as internet access if needed. However, this is a relatively small hotel and can get quite noisy if they are hosting events such as weddings or any special gathering. We stayed for 2 nights in early November....a Friday & Saturday and there was a wedding reception on each night. Suffice it to say that getting to sleep before 2a.m was quite a challenge. It sounded as though the DJ & band were playing in the next room. We were also lucky enough to have a baby staying in the room next to us. Each morning we were awoken to the breathless screams of an infant that lasted a good hour or more. Thus, our (PSH's)....""potential sleeping hours"" became 2a.m-6a.m. Thus, if your looking for some rest and relaxation and plan on spending time in the room, this may not be your 1st choice. If your going to be out most of the time taking in the attractions and don't mind some potential noise, you might give this a shot. Rooms are of B-/C+ quality. My advice would be to call the hotel ahead of time and see if they have any major events planned for your stay. If they don't, you should have a good experience. if they do, I'd stay away.

I would like to say this is the best hotel I have stayed in and the girls at the front desk were terrific. The Hotel is well keep and very clean and neat. I would suggest if you go to Inner Harbor that you pick the Pier v.

Untidy Room

Anonymous from Mountaintop, PA – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Aug 2008, 1 day

The hotel is OK, great location. However when I checked in my room had not been cleaned. The staff offered me tickets to the Baltimore Aquarium to make up for it, which I appreciated. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was good. Had a bad experience with a rude waiter at the attached Panini restaurant (of all things!) The restaurant manager did his very best to make up for that, which was appreciated. All in all, it's a decent hotel, but the overall experience I had did not meet with the price tag. Also, you will pay a 9.95 activity fee for each day of your stay, which you may not be able to take advantage of - for example, no crabby hour on Saturday. It's OK but I would shop around if I were you. Parking in their garage is 20$/day with self-parking.

Anything but Magical

Matt R. from Dallas, TX – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Dec 2007, 1 day

Our stay at this hotel is one of the worst we've ever experienced. The trouble started at check-in, when we were handed the keys to someone else's room. It continued at about 11 P.M., when we discovered that we had no hot water... \n \nWe were assured that the water would be fixed 'shortly' and went to bed. When we woke up, there was still no hot water. I went down to the front desk to find a solution and got a blank. Only after demanding a manager did they agree to allow us to use a guest room on the other side of the hotel to shower (only one side of the hotel had no hot water). \n \nYou would think that given eight hours between the boiler outage and when guests would be waking up, they could have come up with a plan. Perhaps a note on the door saying "Your key has been reprogrammed to open room xxx - you can shower there. Sorry for the inconvenience." Instead we had to beg for relief. Unbelievable. \n \nThere are plenty of other bad reviews on this hotel. Be sure to search the web and read before booking here.
