Loved it
Loved the service and location. Great place to stay and will stay there again. Room was a little small but big enough for a couples get away.
Wonderful service
The hotel has fantastic customer service. The rooms are nice and spacious and the hotel has a great location. Everything is so accessible, the wharf, Ghiradelli, and the trolleys. This is our second time staying there and we would definitely stay again.
Wow, what a room!
Our family of 4 stayed in one of the corner rooms. Huge! Amazing and awesome views: Alcatraz, G.G. Bridge, Hyde Pier, and G-Square. Kids loved the very deep tub and animal print robes. Nice area, across the street from the cable car turn-around, close to aquatic park, F-Wharf, etc. Parking is killer: $ not including tip. Try the Anchorage lot close by for a cheaper deal. Would definitely stay again if we could find a similar outstanding deal.

Say No to Valet
Valet parking was $43 not including tip. We arrived in the evening, check out is 12:00 and car check out was 1:00 (hard to do if you have your bags with and you want to walk around) If you don't mind walking, there are other car lots close by, cheaper, and available for longer periods of time.
Overbooking!
Booked thru travel on line and paid in full, went to check-in and no room was available due to overbooking! Very disappointed because we were celebrating a special occasion and booked the hotel for it's great location and it's Kimpton reputation. Plus why would you not save a room for a pre-paid guest!?! I highly suggest calling right before you check in to make sure the room is available or if you plan on checking in late to prevent this from happening to you. It just wasn't the same staying at another hotel :-(
Highly recommended
This hotel was great. From the professional and friendly staff, to the complimentary wine hour every day, you couldn't beat it. The location was perfect for those wanting to stay in Fisherman's Wharf, though the area would get very crowded during the days. Ate breakfast at The Blue Mermaid, and it was the best I had all week. Service there was just ok. Not a lot of breakfast places around that are open early, or that can hold many people. Conceirge was very helpful in arranging a last minute tour. Cable car turnround is nearby, as well as wine tasting from nearby vineyards and some fun bars. Pier 39 is in walking distance, as well as public transportation drop off points. Recommend Alcatraz tour...awesome. One thing to note is that it gets very cold at night with the winds, which I wasn't expecting. Make sure that you have a heavy sweatshirt or coat. Enjoy.
