'Teacha' in Saigon
Stayed in this hotel for over 2 weeks. The staff is superlative in their friendliness and willingness to help. The food in the dining room is tops. If you don't like one thing, there are 15 other things you will! The breads are of a superior quality comparable to European breads. The executive lounge has a marvelous breakfast spread and throughout the day. Entertainment is available as is exercise room, swimming pool, and numerous other things. The shuttle bus will take you to 4 different kinds of restaurants. The German restaurant was like eating in Berlin or Stuttgart becaus a German owns it and makes sure the quality is excellent! I did not try the others. Taxi service is A-1 thanks to the 'bell hops' and outside staff. The cleanliness of the rooms was maintained in a professional way as was the rest of the hotel. Laundry service was also available and was very much appreciated. The most impressive thing was the service! Smiles and friendliness from everyone! In two weeks there I got to know on a modest personal basis numerous staffers and came to like and appreciate everyone! I cannot say enough positive commentary because I had a tremendous experience at the Windsor Plaza and will definitely seek out its ambience when I next visit Sai Gon!
Girls just wanna have fun!!!
Three friends and I stayed at the Windsor Plaza for 4 nights recently during a short trip to Vietnam. The hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to look after us. We did have the luxury of staying on one of the executive floors which made our stay more enjoyable. The afternoon canapes and drinks were second to none and the service by the loung staff was exceptional. All the staff we encountered at the Windsor Plaza, from the front door to the room maids were curteous, polite, very helpful and always smiling. All in all, a great place to stay - one that I, and I am sure my friends would agree, would recommend to anybody travelling to Ho Chi Minh City.
Lackluster
The Windsor Plaza Hotel is a 400 room facility without any charm. The decor is spartan and lacks any comfort. The facility is poorly maintained and gym and pool area smell of mold. Swimmingpool is small and offers 14 lounge chairs which are nearly always occupied. Gym is small and stuffy. If you want any service I advice to get an Executive upgrade, however the Executive lounge strongly resembles a cafeteria. Place is generally dismal and door man service is poor. If you do stay there, take advantage of down town shuttle as location is remote from general tourist area and restaurants.
A nice stay at Ho Chi Minh
A nice hotel providing a nice stopover places at Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel provide a clean, tidy and good room for my tour. In addition, the staff at reception are with courtesy manner and the shuttle bus services providing a good transportation to other district in the city. The hotel provide a incredible breakfast and there is a local market nearby where you can buy domestic good and food there. In a nutshell, for me, it is a good-rating hotel.
A Good Deal
Hotel is a little far from Cho Ben Thanh but it's less hectic. There's An Dong Plaza next door and Night Market that sells local fruits. Compared to other five star hotels, this is a much better deal. My only complaints is the carpeting in the hallway needs to be changed and the elevator tends to get crowded at rush hour but other than that it's fine. I will give it a B+/A-. Do try the buffet, it's great!
