Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Toronto. It is right in the middle of the downtown area. Close to the subway, the streetcar, the main strip "Yonge Street", and a couple of blocks away from some of the hottest bars and clubs. The hotel is beautiful and the area is very safe. The pool area and the fitness center are state of the art. I was so excited to workout on the high tech machinery. The food in the area is a bit expensive, but conveniently across the street is a blue and white food truck which serves chicken hotdogs with fries for $4.50, and much more. The food from the truck is very good and I ate there most days. I will be coming back to the Sheraton Centre next year for Caribana, there customer service is great.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in July 09. They had a * special which is amazing for a downtown hotel..especially when they are usually 200 and up. When we came back after shopping in the afternoon they had lemonade and a popcorn machine in the lobby...everything free. It was very good and the kids liked this alot. The exercise room had alot of machines and a nice pool but the hottub spa was not working properly and was dirty. If you can get the special at *, this is the hotel to book. Convenient to shopping on trendy Queen West. Actually, its near everything in downtown Toronto. I had to give my parking receipt to the frontdesk and there was a very long lineup but the concierge gladly took it and told me he would hand it in for me. Parking was $*..valet and underground. You can get $* parking across the street at city parking but use that only if you don't plan on moving your vehicle...otherwise it will be alot more than $* We are booking the $* special again this month!

Stayed at the Sheraton for a week in May 2009. It was very noisy all the time, even through the night. Our first 2 nights, we heard a clunking sound all through the night. We thought it was some renos going on so we switched rooms. But the clunking sound persisted and was even worse in the second room. The hotel staff switched us into a room closer to the elevators. Why they did this when they knew we were staying for a longer period of time and we complained about the noise. Then I realized the clunking sound was coming from the elevators. On top of the noise from the elevators and people coming off the elevators late in the night, there was the rings of the bell tower across the street which was very loud. The showers were horrible, no pressure in the shower in both rooms. Also, the bathtub was grimy and not very clean. The toiletries were awful. The heating was switched off while we were there even thogh it was pretty cold at the time. When we complained, the staff was very rude and told us there was nothing they could do, saying it was warm, when in fact the previous night it got down to 2C. Don't eat or drink at the hotel, it's very expensive! The list could go on and on...the only thing going for this hotel is location. We would not stay there again.

This hotel is very nice! The staff was extremely helpful and I was impressed with the service. I will certainly return to this location when I am in the city!

The hotel is currently under renovations and elevators are not available on the first floor. You have to trek up the escalator with your bags to catch the second floor elevator. Gym priviliges are not included in the base price. If you want to work out, be prepared to pay extra. The room was nice and hotel staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
