Excellent, friendly service; Staff is eager to meet expectations
Pickwick Restaurant has an excellent Chef who serves a wide range of cuisines from many countries (European, US and Asian). The Chinese restaurant is too expensive for what it offers. BEWARE: The hotel's travel desk is not extremely well organised and is unable to provide a cost estimate before a trip, which is a problem. The travel desk also offers a one-day return travel by a hotel car with driver to the Taj Mahal in Agra and promises a three-hour drive which actually lasts at least five hours. A one-day travel is NOT advisable: the road is dangerous and overcrowded (people, animals and all kinds of vehicules and bikes), and many road works slow down an already hectic trafic.

Visit of New Dehli and shopping
1. A half or whole day in a car with driver from Claridges Hotel does not cost much to visit main magnificent monuments in the capital. One needs to insist to have an estimate and to agree on a route. Beware: the Hotel's driver will take you to a shop that sells overpriced items of low quality. 2. If you need to purchase last minute gifts including late or on weekends, Le Meridien Hotel offers a range of shops that compete for clients.
Claridges was pretty good. In the colonial-style room was warm and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was well presented. Dinner at the alfresco ?Mediterranean? was also good but rather expensive. Still people who had seen better days complained about it. There?s a bottleneck when checking in and out. Each took about 40-45 minutes. Time is important for both the business and leisure travelers. Anyway when the one before me finally finished, he said, ?I?ve been staying here for 34 years and things have changed a little!? Their snail-like pace really needs to speed up!
