Beautiful, Relaxing, all of the above
Im not sure what happen with the person that wrote the review on Sept 14, 2009. But I went for my honeymoon, and my husband did not experience any of that. The stay at the crane was amazing. Wonderful food, service, etc. The room was amazing. We have travel to many places and the crane was the best we have ever stayed thus far. One of the concierge even brought my husband and I two coconuts from the trees located on the resort. My husband are deciding to purchase time sharing there. Definetly visit. !! We will be back next year. Thanks Crane !
a pleasant place to stay
We stayed at Crane for 4 days during mid September. The staffs are friendly but slow, beautiful beach, hotel room has equipped with full kitchen and the bathroom is second to none. The room has stunning view of the ocean. A/C is working but we will use it less if they have screen windows that keep mosquito and flies from entering the room. The cliff by the pool has a unique/gorgeous view, the signature of Crane. Unfortunately while we were there taking pictures, we were attacked by ants. We took a closed look at the lawn; we found a few ant colonies. We had to retreat. Overall, Crane is a pleasant place to stay. Since we came during the low season, the price was about US$* /day. For regular rate at $*/day, we wonât stay there. There are many places in Barbados you can choose to stay. Barbados, nice place, nice weather, and nice people. We highly recommend for vacation.
Crane...what a shame I wasted a weeks vacation
I was sooo looking forward to this vacation. I tried and tried to give the "resort" the benefit of the doubt, even though other guests warned us about multiple iproblems but in the end...I could no longer make excuses for the organizations terrible performance...First the great points.... Barbados & specifically the Board of Tourism has made great strides in educating the people of Barbados about how important tourists are to the island, unlike even 4 years ago when the island lacked friendliness and tourist approval...Generally Barbados seems as fun/people loving as I have always thought Jamica is, Barbados itself is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The ocean is fantastic warm, all levels of waves, clear...super...The foliage and flora is like no where on earth,,,It always smells like someone just walked by with perfume but it is really just one flowering tree/shrub after another. Why we probably won't come back/buy a second home here... Crane- No Airconditioning, trash in gardens, elevators usually broken, no water to room this morning, fire alarms go off, the elevators smell like burning rubber, no one cleans around the pool (glasses, etc) Maybe the towel security guard (I am not kidding) could help witth this issue. They neglected to tell you that the bulldozers will wake you up if you are unfortunate enough to be placed in a garden room. The bed is hard as a rock you can only watch tv from bed because you can't see it from the couch. I think the tub leaks because we couldn't seem to fill it with water. This is no 5 star resort...oh did I forget the huge black poison boxes next to the walkway? Because they have lots of private functions you may not be allowed to use the facilities Bar, Pool, etc
Once-in-a-Lifetime-Treasure
My fiance and I went to the Crane for our honeymoon. We booked through Travel on line during the "Best of Barbados" sale, in which we received some great perks...free night, $off airfare, a $Visa gift card, free breakfast every morning in L'Azure, free dinner at the Oistins Fish Fry, and a coupon book with discounts off some great attractions. If you can book this package, do it. I'm not sure how often it is available, but it was well worth it. Now for the good stuff.... Our arrival at The Crane wasn't the best. We took the late flight into Bridgetown and didn't arrive at the resort until 11:30. Check-in was simple and we were taken to our Junior Garden View Suite in Building 3. The room was one of the older style ones with wood floors and weak A/C. However, it was beautiful and the smell of the wood floors and the mahogany furniture was a treat. After a restless night's sleep, we requested another room. The front desk took care of our request within the hour. In the meantime, we relaxed at the pool right next to check in....it is small, but elegant. We had a few drinks from the bar....I suggest the Crane Rum Punch. My fiance had a delicious Pina Colada. After about an hour I returned to the front desk and they summoned a bellhop to drive us to the available rooms. Both were wonderful and Tramaine was a very kind and helpful. We stayed in a Junior Garden View Suite in Building 9, which is the newest building at the resort. The A/C worked great and our room had a private backyard with a great little patio. We considered a wonderful upgrade, and it came at no charge. Here is a break down
Beautiful hotel but no A/C
My finance and i just got back from our 7days vacation at thr Crane. The staff is warm and friendly, nice beach, stuunning hotel with a fantastic view of the island. We would have had a fantastic time if i was'nt for the non working A/c. Needless to say we will be back next year so please have that A/C working.
