excellent choice
The hotel is in an excellent location near Michigan Avenue and the River. The hotel staff is enthusiastic and definitely go the extra mile for the guests! The afternoon wine hour is a nice touch and the staff will actually print boarding passes. We had the opportunity to use up to $11 for free from the mini-bar. Rooms are clean, beds are great. I would stay again!
Hotel Monaco was great!
The location of this hotel is perfect, right along the river but tucked into a quieter corner. The staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The free wine hour was a major bonus! Guests are able to check their luggage with front door staff and the doorman repeatedly offered to coordinate transportation for me. A great, comfortable room with all the amenities one would need for a brief stay and friendly staff means I would stay again and again!
Perfect in every way!
The Hotel Monaco is perfectly situated being close to Michigan Avenue and the river. The entire staff was exceptional in their friendliness and willingness to make the stay perfect. The room was great and comfortable. I visit Chicago often and this will be where I stay!
Wonderful location ~ great staff
The Hotel Monaco provided excellent service and didn't leave anything out. They were always welcoming and eager to assist you. It was truly enjoyable to hear a pleasant voice when I called the front desk; especially when they addressed me by my name. It felt as though they were ""watching out for me"". I never encountered a negative employee and everyone truly appeared to enjoy their work and their guests.

Emerald Loop
Amazing menu and great veggie burgers! Located just across the street from the hotel.
Had to review, to amazing not to highly recommend
My wife and I went to Chicago for the first time together for a romantic city summer getaway. We had a phenominal time especially since we love travel destinations with plenty to do. We were so impressed with the conceriege at Hotel Monaco. He was very poiite, patient, thorough and pleasant to work with. We had many questions and received explanations that made our tour of Chicago comfortable and enjoyable. This hotel is an ideal location to just about every must-see tourist attraction as well as the city transit systems. I was so impressed with the location, interior ambiance and decor, modest size building with large spacious and quaint rooms containing all the necessary immenities, complimentary coffee and wine party, friendly and cheerful staff, immaculate cleanliness, excellent room service, etc. I truly cannot say enough good about this hotel. My wife and I have stayed in many nice hotels all over the world and this hotel is absolutely top notch. My biggest recommendation when choosing this particular hotel is to reserve a river view room. You will be happy you did so. It is gorgeous. You'll have a large window seat to sit in and stare out into the Chicago river surrounded by the remarkable buildings. We plan on staying at many more Kimpton Hotels after our experience at Hotel Monaco Chicago.

The Original Morton's Steakhouse on State Street
Oh my goodness. This was by far the best overall meal my wife and I have both ever had. We are from New Orleans and know what good eating is all about. From start to finish, a 5-6 course meal including wine and delicious bread, every morsel was exceptional. The original steakhouse amibiance and our famous waitress Mrs. Rhoda made the night perfect. Every course was outstanding. The flavor, texture, temperature, quality, presentation, and taste were all impecable. I will recommend this Morton's to anyone I know that is heading to Chicago. Loved it!!
