Elegant and exclusive
This was our first family vacation with our grandchild and my daughter. We were surprised of how great the view, room, and service were. This our first time staying at the Marina. If you like excursions and a romantic getaway without feeling like a party or a kid's spring break this is the place to be. It is for the sophisticated adults and families that loved exclusive dining and being pampered all day. You have the flexibility to use any of El Cid's hotels for great restaurants and beaches. We love it so much we will be returning in December 2009. We want to thank the General Manager, for taking time out of his busy schedule to see if we were enjoying our stay.. We rate it a super 5++!! From the Lee-Garcia's in Dallas, Texas..See you in December!
A simple hotel, but great for a peaceful getaway
We stayed four nights, using the basic all inclusive package. We had a one bedroom suite, with a nice view of the marina. It included a small kitchenette, counter for dining, living room area, separate bedroom, two vanities/sinks and big walk in shower. Very nice and clean, but the air conditioning in the living room area seemed to run much cooler than in the bedroom, which got a little warm while we were sleeping. I've stayed at all inclusives that feature a lot more options (multiple restaurants and bars), but we had a great time. The breakfast buffet each morning is nice - they will make omelets and smoothies to order, there is fresh fruit, pastries, and Mexican and American breakfast foods. At lunch, you can go to the same restaurant, or dine pool side. There are two nice pools - we only stayed at the smaller one (without the kids area). The service really put our experience over the top. The resort was mostly empty our first 2 nights, but even when it was busier, the service was great. The waiters come around pool side to bring drinks and food constantly. For more restaurant/bar options, we could also go to the El Cid Castilla, which seems a lot larger. The provided a lock for the in-room safe for free, so we used it, but I felt the facility was very safe. Good location, took about 20-25 minutes to get there from the airport, about 10-15 minutes to get to the Golden Zone or old downtown.
Unforgettable vacation
From the moment we got to Mazatlan to the moment we left, we experienced nothing but total bliss. It was a really wonderful and relaxing vacation. The people at El Cid and everyone in Mazatlan is so friendly and helpful. Don't forget to go in the cave at the pool if you are there. It is gorgeous. Also, sit by the pool and get chips and salsa, one of the best I have eaten. Their buffet breakfast is so great and so cheap. Champagne brunch for just 25 dollars for 2 people, can't beat that. Everything about El Cid was great. The staff and management is so great. the shift manager took such great care of us. Visit, Joe's Oyster Bar and Bora Bora club up in Zona Dorado, it is awesome. I had the best time of my life. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about El Cid and Mazatlan. El Cid's beach is accessible by water taxi but don't get discouraged by that. It is more secluded and has less vendors than the other beaches, so it is great. And if you want to ride a wave runner, go to the beach area and rent one for just 30 bucks instead of booking it online for a much higher price. Now, I wish I was back there again and I just got back last night:-)

Spring Break 2009- A Beautiful and Exclusive Experience
The minute we drove up to the hotel you are greeted with such genuine hospitality. The open lobby is georgeous. The rooms were impecable. I loved that they have beautiful views from the balcony. I travel with my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. We are in our middle 40's and my daughter and son in law are 19, our grandson is 1. With that in mind, our stay at El Cid Marina exceeded our expectations. The location was remote so that we were secure from any spring break wild parties. The location was perfect for a family and luxurious atmosphere. There were excursions for all of us and our teenagers were having the time of their life. They were scared about all the violence in Mexico, but all we experience at Mazatlan was peace and quiet. We had all inclusive and we loved the restaurant and its menue. We arrived on a Sunday and the brunch was to die for! We loved the staff and management, they made us feel comfortable and they were very friendly. You felt like a super star in an exclusive 5 star hotel. We look foward to coming in December of 2009. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience, we will never forget it.
