Not an Option
If you like to have a restful night's sleep while you are on vacation... DON'T Stay here! While we were at our hotel we did not have one night without listening to the parking attendants whooping it up all night long. After the first night I talked to the manager. He said he would talk to them. They were quiet up until 4 a.m. in the morning and then it started up again. If you like a hotel without construction going on ... DON'T Stay here! We were awoke at 7 a.m. to the hammering and electrical equipment after NOT having a restful night's sleep. There were painters all around us in the halls and balconies as well. If we knew that there was going to be construction at this hotel, I would have NEVER booked it! The breakfast that was provided was poorly equipped. I have seen better breakfast options at Fairfield or Hampton Inn compared to this hotel. We ended up eating some fruit and then going out for breakfast. The only thing going for this hotel were that the beds were comfortable. The pillows didn't slump as soon as you put your head on them. And there was actually hot water in the shower. You spend alot of money on vacation I know, but please do yourself a favor and find another hotel. I wouldn't want to see your vacation turn out not the way you want it because of the lack of information about your hotel.
Reservation error gone good
My husband and I visited new orleans over columbus day weekend. We had heard of previous reservations at various hotels in New Orleans getting messed up, or hotels not having their reservations on file. I had made a reservation for a Jacuzzi suite with a balcony and printed up the invoice. When we got there, they didn't have that room available for us. But the staff was extremely accomodating and upgraded us to a suite that was much nicer! So make sure you have an invoice from them stating your reservation info. The Location was perfect! Bourbon street is 1.5 blocks away. Its a little noisy at 3am when the clubs whine down and are screaming on the streets- but overall good. Bartender at May Baileys not too friendly. We would stay here again. Restaurants: reccommend Brennans for their breakfast and get the Eggs Houssard & Bananas Foster! DELICIOUS!
Dauphine Orleans Hotel
We booked our trip thru Travel on line and depended upon reviews for our hotel. We were initially very nervous while going to our hotel because the area was not what we expected. To our complete surprise the hotel was GREAT!! The only thing that I would mention is that if you have a room in front which we did the noise sometimes is a little too much for a person to sleep. The pool was great, sometimes it felt that we were the only two people in the whole place. Very clean, bedding and pillows were unbelievable, soft and comfy and believe me I am very picky about bedding!! The hotel personnel were very courteous and always tried to help and we would definitely stay there again. You could get a better hotel but not better service nor location. We were central to everything and walked everywhere. Definitely go to Muriel's for dinner and do lots of shopping. Good job Travel on line One more thing I was very surprised at their fitness center. Top of the line equipment, clean and great to work out in. Opened early and it was open late. My husband and I liked it very much. Also at the pool they gave out pool towels as well. We loved it!!
Awesome Stay
My 13 year old son and I just spent a week at this hotel and it was great. The room was very clean and modern. The AC worked great! (Thank goodness, it was in the high 90's all week) The bed was a Tempurpedic and very comfy! The pool was absolutely lovely and very refreshing. All of the staff were very friendly, from the front desk clerks to the cleaning staff, to the garage attendants to the breakfast servers. Oh yeah, they have a wonderful free breakfast, not your average coffee and rolls. They had waffles, fruit, bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, grits, juice, coffee, etc. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
Beautiful, well priced, well situated
Just came back from a trip and stayed here...the hotel is lovely, nice amenties, nice staff, quiet at night despite being close to Bourbon st madness. The courtyard is pretty with a SALT POOL...you will appreciate soaking your tired dogs in this ...comfortable beds, breakfast is a good start to a busy NO day. They give you a free drink in adjacent bar and you can take this to the adjacent pool... we loved it. Incidentally, if you like good NO music, skip the Bourbon St covers and head down to Frenchman St. Lots of good music, lots of fun, cheaper! Oh and this hotel is about ten minutes walk to the oldest cemetary if that is what you are interested in.
