La Quinta Inn and Suites Portland

My husband and I spent 3 days and 2 nights at La Quinta in Portland Maine. The people at the front desk were amazing, polite, helpful. The room was clean, nicely decorated and we even got what we asked for a mini fridge and microwave. I would recommend this place to anyone. The free shuttle to airport was a huge perk.

The bed was great although not made up every day properly. The breakfast was good. Housekeeping was horrible. Carpet by the bed (lots of crumbs) was never cleaned even though I complained. It looked like the room had not been slept in for days and nobody bothered to make sure it was clean before I checked in. The coffeepot had a generous layer of dust. Mirrors were not clean nor the faucet. There was one washcloth, one hand towel and three bath towels. I asked for another washcloth since I had to clean the dust from the coffeepot and wipe the faucet. I finally got three of each by the time I checked out. Coffee was not replenished daily or cups. When I complained about the dirty carpet they said sorry but housekeeping was gone for the day. No information about Portland in the room.

Would stay again. Only negatives are unit is located near little shopping and few restaurants. Also, breakast buffet could use some variety. Positives are that Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and updated. Parking very close to entrance. Overall a good value.

I could hear the neighbors room and he was extremely unpleasant. Highway noise. Toilet did not flush properly. Grimy update wasnt well done.

This was our first time staying at the La Quinta and choose it because of good reviews. This was the worst hotel experience for us. When we arrived our carpet was wet and smelled like cleaning products and they had just shampood the carpets. they had no other rooms that were any different. Then at 1am that night someone from the hotel tried to enter our room-without knocking (thank god we had the lock on the door). The next day we asked why that would happen and they said that they had that room listed as vacant. On top of everything our alarm clock went off loudly at 6am and the breakfest was a disappointment. We were suppose to stay 2 nights-we cancled the second night
