Greatest stay!!!
I would stay again and again, perfect location. We stayed for 4 days. Breakfast was great. Staff was nice. We will definety go backk. We vacation inHawaii every other year, and this is the nicest place.
Great Stay
We loved this hotel! It is so centrally located and right across the street from the beach. There are two ABC stores in the lobby to get any food or drinks you might need and a fridge in the room to store everything. And the beds are SOOO comfortable! We had a city view on the back of the first tower... the noise level was low and the view was beautiful not the ocean, but it was much less expensive. I would suggest trying to get a room on one of the higher floors. The staff was also very friendly and helpful... they even served punch and cake in the lobby one day! We would absolutely stay there again!

Hospitality Suite
We left on a red-eye, so we had the whole day after we checked out to go to the beach, etc... We used the hospitality suite provided by the hotel to shower, change and get ready before heading to the airport. It was great!!! If you're in a similar situation, ask for the suite key and leave your bags with the bellman.
The front desk was very courteous and prompt. GREAT STAY!
Upon arrival staff was ready to assist us in our needs. The room was immaculate, clean linen and carpet. The partial ocean view was exquisite. The hotel and pools were kid-friendly. Would definitely stay again. See you in 2011.

Saving $$$$$
Utilize the marketing vendors, the concierge and the coupon books. The food is pretty pricey so use coupons for the buffets. Take the bus when possible because cabs are $$$$$ and not worth it.
First visit to Honolulu
Hotel staff friendly and helpful.Room was nice and clean,a little small.Had city view. But don't park a car there unless you pay dearly each day. You also have to pay for hispeed internet.
Not the best location
Thought that the location of the Marriott was not so great, further away from the nicer shops and restaurants than some of the other hotels that are more centrally located. But still in walking distance. Also, the area around the hotel did not seem that nice. Beach access is across the street, same as for other hotels on Waikiki beach. Only few hotels have direct beach access, again the one's that are located more centrally. They have two pools at the Marriott, which were not very big or nice, just plain and square. Personnally, found the hotel to be too big, walking a lot from the North to the South Tower in the lobby area. We had an excellent service experience, though. Also, they upgraded us to an ocean view room, which was nice. The room amenities were fine: Flat screen TV, big safe, comfortable bed.

From Airport to hotel
Since the Marriott is furthest to the South, it is the last stop if you take the Airport-Waikiki Shuttle bus. Of course the shuttle bus is cheaper than a taxi (probably around half per person if you are two people), but depending on how full the bus is and in which Terminal you land and how long you have to wait for the bus, it might take you up to 4 times as long to get to the hotel.
