Best Western City Centre/Centre-ville

The location is walking distance from the tourist sites -- IF you're up for some walking and serious hills. If you're not, QC may not be the city for you. Good-sized room, modern bathroom. Very clean. Memory foam beds, supportive and dead-silent. Nice bathrobes. Clientele trended toward families. Friendly vibe. WiFi fast & reliable. I used Skype on iPhone to beat roaming charges & make phone calls. Desk staff were cheerfully bilingual. Valet parking off-site is NOT free. Daily fee gets you in&out privileges. They're not pushy about tips, but you're not a deadbeat, are you? Beware delay in getting your car when there's a rush -- call ahead from your room and it will be waiting. If you're lucky, Pierre the marathon runner (really!) will get your car and it will come immediately. The pool is dinky -- just big enough for the kids to splash around in so they sleep well. The workout room is just a few pieces of equipment. If the pool & gym are important, sneak into the Pur hotel (kidding) we had a view of their big pool. With all the hiking you'll be doing you won't need the gym. If you were serious about working out on the road you'd do pushups, situps & yoga in your room, and you're not doing that, are you? Thai & Vietnamese restaurants and a couple of pubs right across Rue de la Couronne looked OK. Convenience store and big drugstore nearby. Downsides -- you don't get the $300 views from the Frontenac. City elevator at the end of Couronne closed for renovations. Significant hike to the tourist areas, though enjoyable if you have the right attitude. A great value. Thumb your nose at the Frontenac & spend the money you save on fun & meals.

Wonderful, friendly service. Everything in the room exceeded expectations. Even the wireless internet connection was fast and trouble-free. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful with reccomendations, directions etc.
