Very nice
This is a true 4 star hotel, I would say verging on 5 stars. The staff is exceptional, the facility beautiful and the service couldn't be better. Our room was on the 6th floor, and the hall ways smelled pretty funky, but the room was great. Breakfast was not included in our room, I have to say. We had the buffet our first day, but not much of a value at 25 euros, and I would really suggest any of the fabulous little street cafes for breakfast over the hotel's (unless you get it thrown in like the other post). The internet was fast and reliable, and included in the price. I did take a look at the fitness room, and it was very nice. The location is a bit off the main road, and a bit rough at night, but in very easy walking distance from everything you want to see.
Great Trip
This hotel is in a great location, Right near the Red Light District, but far enough to where you feel safe, its a great place to stay for anyone. The canals that surround it are beautiful, and just wandering around this beautiful city is why you should go to Amsterdam. The hotel had an intersting interior facade, as it was built around an old city square. The hotel bar was great, and offered nice TAPAS. The museums are about a 20-30 minute walk, but seeing all the bawdy, artistic, and floral sights on the way only add to the experience. Renting a bike would be my suggestion. The hotel had a good fitness facility, and the staff was generally pleasant. Breakfast included is an amazing deal, considering how weak the dollar is for american tourists.

Redlight district
If you are up for it, take a walk 3 blocks north to the Red Light district. Bad taste, good taste, right, wrong, you decided.
