Hotel Review
Front desk was fairly friendly. I have stayed at this hotel before. Each expieerence has been very good. I really enjoyed the hotel.
If you're a smoker, this hotel is for you...
We arrived late on a Saturday night, the 5th of December. The cigarette smoke was so heavy that you would have thought you were in a much smaller bar, instead of a large casino. Had to make our way through a very crowded casino area (it's Rodeo Finals Week) from the front desk to the elevators. No TV remote, no HBO, no guide to channels and no instructions for using the computer keyboard on the desk. The room otherwise was nice, clean and spacious. The food in the Garden Buffet especially, but also in the Coronado Cafe, was somewhere below the quality of cruise ship buffet. My wife came down with a cold and congestion and I asked for a check-out extension on our last day so she could stay in bed and rest until our afternoon flight. The lady at the front desk told me a one hour extension (to 1:00) was all she could do.
Great stay @ South Point
This was our second time to stay at South Point Hotel in Vegas. We could not like it any better. The rooms are very clean and large. The housekeeping staff is very accomidating and the staff in general were all very friendly and professional. We like staying in the less busy area off the strip but convenient enough to get there in a matter of minutes. South Point has any and everything you could possibly want contained in their building. Of course, their slots could be a little looser but hey you are in Vegas. The only negative thing I can think of is I do not think you should have to pay extra for the exercise area every day.
Bad bell hop service
The bell hops were rude and were nothing more than oxygen thieves at check out. They would not even let me use a luggage cart to move my own stuff when they were not going to help me. There were valets all over the place standing around doing nothing and only two bell hops on duty at check in and check out. Internet service was $*, really you canât offer free internet when just about every dive hotel these days offers free internet? The food in the Italian and Mexican restaurants was great and would recommend eating in either one if you want a meal in the hotel. The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I did not win any money, but that is my fault for being a lousy gambler.
South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa
Stayed at hotel Nov. 12-15m, 2009. The hotel & casino was clean and nice. The rooms were nice, clean and room service was fast. The TV didn't have very may channels, there was no HBO, Pay Per View, or any movie channels. The Restaurants were nice, but there should be a "snack shoppe" where fast food could be purchased. Maybe a gameroom for kids could be added. The hotel wasn't very "kid friendly".
