Honeymoon DO-OVER....Beautiful Resort, just okay room.
The Secrets Capri is a beautiful resort. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. It is NOT in cancun or even near it really, its in Playa Del Carmen. It does look much bigger online than in person. The food on the resort was okay. Breakfast buffest was typical, not bad. Lunches were okay, dinners were amazing. The Italian Restaurant and Steak House were the best. Room Service, two thumbs down...! We ordered it numerous times, each time is was more awful. There was a mosquito issue, so make sure you take bug repellent because they dont sell any in the gift shop. It rained for most of the days we were there, which is a shame because the pool area is the best part of the hotel. They have entertainment out by the pool too. But on the rainy days we were bored....the rooms are small, beds arent comfy, and tv st ***! The all-inclusive part was great, drinks were awesome and always made very well.
great overall
pro food, services, spa con they try to push an upgrade when checking in while the hotel was only 50% full the same w a late check out the wanted to charge when the hotel is only 50% full
Not that impressed
It was our first time in Secrets Capri Rivera resort. We chose this place for our vacation beacuse we've previously stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancun and were very impessed with that resport. I though that we will get the same unbeleivable experience at Capri Riviera as we've gotten at Excellence Riviera. To our disappointment, it was not the case. Our room at Secrets Capri was old and did not have a good view. When we asked to be relocated to the better located room during the check in, we were told that they do not have any other rooms available for us. Then in a couple of days we've learned that this resport is only 50% occupied. Overall hotel and all the ammenities are dated but kept clean. There are not much activities available on-site during the evening time. Food was ok but you have to wait for a long time to be seated at some of the restaurants. We enjoyed service and food at the Italian restaurant though. We were pretty impessed with the beach area. It was very clean and water was pleasant to swim in compare to the other places where can can not swim. Me and my husband agreed that this resort is overpriced and overrated. and we will probably choose some other resort for our next vacation in Cancun.
HEAVEN ON EARTH
Like a dream! I will definitely be back! We went for our 10 year anniversary in late August through early September. We were treated like royalty, EVERYTHING was perfect! I can't wait to go back. I dream about it nightly and think about it at least every 30 minutes, I highly recommend the ocean front Jr Suite,
Best place Ever!
We just got back from our trip to Secrets last Monday. This place is very upscale. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the beach is equally as nice. The food was great- we never had to wait at any of the restaurants. The choices were awesome. They had wonderful theme nights as well. The first night was a beach party- dinner on the beach, one other night was Mexican Fiesta night. The entertainment was fun. The staff bend over backwards to please you. Everyone was smiling and pleasant. We do recommend bringing lots of singles to tip- they really appreciate even a very small tip. The only complaint I have is that the mosquitos were bad and they did not provide any bug spray. Of course we didn't want to pay that so we came home with very eaten up ankles from our outdoor nighttime dining. Bring Bug Spray!!! We love this place and will be back in the future!
