Fabulous
Le Pavillion was absolutely great! My wife and I went to New Orleans for the first time recently and stayed at this hotel. Upon check-in the staff was phenomenal. Everyone was very helpful from the doorman/bellhop to the front desk. The room was clean and always well maintained/stocked. The only copmplaint I have is that our toilet didn't work all that great and the faucet on the sink leaked a little bit. Other than that they stay was wonderful. The PB&J at 10 pm every night is different and kind of cool. I suggest making it by at least once to do that if you stay here. Make sure you get there at 10 pm though becasue it seems that the sandwiches go fast and the bread starts to get dried out because of sitting out in the lobby. Also I highly reccomend their concierge service. Eveyone was helpful and had great suggestions of restauraunts and attractions to attend. One more thing...bring your own pillow. Theirs aren't that great.
Halloween in New Orleans
My wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to fly to New Orleans for Halloween of 2009 and got a great deal on this hotel. The location was good, and the amenities sounded nice so we gave it a try and didn't regret it for a second. The hotel is beautiful, the room (we upgraded to a single king) was very comfortable and well appointed (though the walls were a tad thin when the next room got... amorous). Most of the time we couldn't hear anyone else, and the bed was quite comfortable. Sunday brunch was a bit pricey at about 35 per person but one of the best buffets I've ever sampled and the crystal dining room was beautiful with a great pianist to set the mood. The crowning glory (no pun intended) was the rooftop pool and hot tub. The weather was perfect for us to use the attached weight room them swim and relax in the hot tub after walking all day. As for walking: it's about a five block walk to Canal and Bourbon streets and the beginning of the French Quarter, maybe another seven to Cafe Du Monde and 24hr coffee and Beignets. Or about halfway to the Cafe on Iberville and Decatur streets you can dine in or get delivery from the "French Quarter Pizzeria and Bar" with awesome calzones. Or it's only two blocks to the nearest trolley stop which can take you to the French quarter, the Garden district, or shopping on Magazine st. for $* - add a quarter if you need a transfer, or *$ for a day pass. The staff was very helpful and ready to answer all requests or questions. In short, this will be the hotel we stay at in New Orleans from now
The Pavillon...a memorable stay!
I found the staff to be very accommodating..bartenders were friendly.
Opulence and Value
My husband and I stayed in mid-October for our first visit to New Orleans. Hereâs an overview of our experience: Room We stayed in a standard room with a queen bed. The room was comfortable and clean upon arrival. The decor was a mix of French and Southern, the furniture was in good shape. Regarding noise - I don't think we heard another guest the entire time we were there - a definite plus. Housekeeping kept the room spotless, and the towels provided were plentiful. The air conditioning was quiet and worked well, which was great with temperatures in the upper 80's/low 90's. Service/Staff The staff we encountered were all wonderful. Everyone from the front desk to bellhop to doormen offered advice and greeted us with a smile. We didn't have any problems with the room or our stay that needed addressing. In fact, the only service we needed was a wake up call, which was on time. Overall Le Pavillon was a great experience, and the price was fantastic considering the opulent feel of the hotel. The Central Business District location is great - the side street leads right to Bourbon Street, if you're interested. The farther reaches of the French Quarter were an easy walk away. We felt safe walking in the area at all times. The hotel is also only a block or so away from both the Canal and St. Charles street car lines, and cabs were easy to get for farther trips. We didn't check out the bar or the food, so I can't offer any feedback in that respect. The rooftop pool was a delight after the high temperatures and humidity, and we were the only people there the two days we used it. Overall, Le Pavillon is highly recommended.
Couldn't ask for more!
My husband and I left biloxi trying to salvage our horrible honeymoon, we decided to go to New Orleans and relax, and have some fun in our home state. We booked a suite at Le Pavillion and within an hour of check in our honeymoon went from drab to fab!. The hotel staff was wonderful. My husband and I had a romantic dinner in the crystal room. The food matched the decor in elegance. Our waiter over heard we were on our honeymoon and we were treated so wonderfully, the head chef came out to wish us well, and the hostess brough over chocolate covered strawberries and champagne to enjoy. We really loved the Peanut butter and Jelly tradition. Every evening at 10 pm they have peanut butter and jelly with ice cold milk for the hotel patrons. It must have been the best pj of my life. I told my husband I want to go back again...even though it is only an hour from our home, I would make a trip again just to stay there.
