Very nice hotel

Teresa S. from Sacramento, CA – Would stay again
Stayed Aug 2009, 4 days Most Recent Stay

We had a very pleasant stay at the Riande Continental Hotel. The front desk and concierge were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and very clean. The hotel is centrally located and close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The Tinaja Restaurant is only a couple of blocks away and offers a great Panamanian folklore dancing show. The hotel restaurant is OK but they do offer quite a variety of foods for the free breakfast. The business center offers computer and internet service for only $1.58 an hour. What a great deal!

RIANDE NICE

Anonymous from Washington DC, DC – Would stay again
Stayed Mar 2008, 2 days

This hotel is very nice and the staff is very helpful especially if you want to set up your tours from there. We had 4 days there and had a lot to see - we arranged everything through the business center and the tour guides at the entrance of the hotel. The drivers were extremely nice and helpful. One recommendation if booking a air/hotel package deal - DO NOT get the airport/hotel transport with Gamboa Tours - they are way tooo expensive and we had a problem with the pick up on the day we left. Arrange pickup through the hotel directly - it is much cheaper and the day you leave will go easier also.\n\nRecommend seeing Casco Viejo and the Miraflores locks on the Panama Canal.

TINAJAS

Make reservations as soon aspossible for the thur, fri, sat night shows at Tinajas restaurant. They have a folkloric dance show that is very good and close to Riande Hotel. The food is OK but the show makes it worth it. It is very close to the hotel but a hotel cabbie will take you for 4 dollars and it is a liitle confusing to get there.

Very Nice Hotel

Ed D. from Silver Spring, MD – Would stay again
Stayed Feb 2008, 5 days

The staff was quite helpful and answered all concerns and questions as quickly as possible. I don't speak much spanish and they not much english but we were able to communicate by being patient and courteous. The room was very nice and spacious and there were enough english speaking tv stations so watching tv at night was not boring. Overall a very pleasant stay in a very cosmopolitan and growing city.

RESTAURANTS

The hotel restaurant was excellant with a morning buffet that was always stocked well and the food and fruits very fresh. There are many excellant restaurants in within walking distance as well as fast food places. 3 Casinos within walking distance as well as the one in the Hotel. There are 2 shopping malls accross the street and a larger shopping mall very close that I didn't get a chance to see. The coffee is excellant.

Family Business Stay

David B. from Peachtree City, GA – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Sep 2007, 4 days

Upon arrival the casino entrance looked like a Brothel and the side street that leads to the Parking entrance reeked of urine and vomit. At the front desk, in spite of several attending only two customers took over 20 minutes to get checked in. In the room the finishing was not very good and the air conditioner sounded like a 747 on take off. \n\nThroughout our stay the front desk staff was disconnected and generally not very helpful. Upon check out the staff could not comprehend the need to leave and make a flight on time and treated us with disdain, then took her time on purpose in spite of the fact that I made it a point to stop by and go through the check out procedure the night before in order to expedite the process in the morning. \n\nI do not recommend this hotel to anyone under any circumstances that are not an emergency!!
