Fairmont Hotel - San Francisco
Hotel is grand in the old style. Everything is clean and well-kept. Service is excellent, friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with a view of San Francisco Bay. Every request was made quickly. I would definitely stay there again. Dining room was "okay" for dinner, but they have a lovely, opulent brunch that was great.
Beautiful hotel....
We really enjoyed the Fairmont. Beautiful, large rooms, nice linens. Down side for us was window washing going on outside our room while we were there. Laurel Court restaurant was ridiculously expensive for breakfast. Cafe Cento was an ok alternative though it would have been nice if there had been a hot food (egg) alternative to the pastries and yogurt. Tonga room could have been better. Why all the tropical atmosphere with live music that had no relation? A steel band and/or Carribean style music would have improved the experience. Food was better than average but not great. Prices were reasonable for area. Be prepared that everything in this hotel costs extra. Complementary anything is hard to come by. You may be able to connect wirelessly to the internet (unprotected) but if you need to use the internet on the business center computers be prepared to pay handsomely. Overall, we really did like this hotel but you just need to know it will cost you!
Excellent...First Class Hotel!
We arrived at the Fairmont early and found the front desk to be very helpful in trying to get us a room hours before check in. They even provided a couple optional rooms that were different from our original choice if we were interested in checking in immediately. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The hotel was beautiful and had one of the most ornate lobby's I had ever seen. The rooms were large compared to most hotels in the San Francisco area. The rooms were clean and well decorated. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would return again on a subsequent visit.
Beautiful but 50$ for parking plus 14% city tax
The Fairmont is one of those hotels you have to stay at once, simply because of the history. Pros: Over the top gorgeous embellishments everywhere, and the Tonga Room. Location, the views and photos of the hotel's history. The bed was wonderfully comfy. The staff was helpful and friendly, one staff member even took the time to give me a unprompted tour of the hotel. Cons: The Crown Room is closed to the public now. The parking is 50$ per night plus a 14% city tax!!! Parking in the area is nearly impossible otherwise. If you need a car for your visit it is just outrageous. The maid didn't clean my room for 3 days. There isn't a exercise room or pool on the premises.
Fairmont Hotel
This is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. Absolutely beautiful with great staff. The rooms were very clean with plenty of space. The staff is courteous and totally customer oriented. We used room service dly and it was frequently there within minutes in spite of the hotel being very busy. Location on Nob Hill beautiful and quiet-had view of the Bay from our room. Rooms very quiet-no problems with noise-didn't even hear the elevator and our room was next to it. Bathrooms are modern and very spacious-beds very comfortable.
