Compton Place, San Francisco
Wonderful little hotel just a few blocks from Union Square. Our king room was small but very efficiently arranged and the bed was the most comfortable we have ever had at a hotel! Staff was friendly and helpful, but be aware of your bar tab. A split of champagne was $19 and parking is $45/day. We had dining plans elsewhere, but were told by locals the restaurant and bar menu is top notch.
Calm Elegance in the heart of San Francisco
It is always a shock when you step into the elegant lobby of the Campton off of Union Square. Suddenly all the chaos becomes calm elegance. The hotel found our reservation easily and complied with my request to repair a lamp promptly. The room was spacious by San Francisco standards with marble floors, fancy built-in wood closets, and pocket doors. The savory dishes at the restaurant with served in small tasty portions with attention to flavor. I cannot recommend the desserts. The server mumbled so that I had no idea what I was eating.
Excellent location
Hotel was well located and within walking distance to union square. The room was abit small, but well appointed. This hotel is good for romantic couples, but not advisable if traveling with young children as the bathroom has non-locking sliding doors and no shower curtains. Recommend staying on week days when rates are reasonable and not weekends when the rates are too high.
Great service from start to finish. Very pleasant room, comfortable bed, small (boutique-type) hotel, great location near Union Square. Excellent restaurant, wine list. Will go again."
