Wonderful Stay
Had a great time at the Frontenac for our anniversary. Great staff and very friendly. The best spot to be in Quebec City, overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Worth the extra money, especially with the deal we got through Travel online. If you have never been to Quebec City, it is the most romantic place you will ever see on this side of the Atlantic. You feel you are in a northern European capital. You'll enjoy it even more if you have your significant other at your side. With the Frontenac's location in the Old City, you do not even need a car to see everything. A walk around the Old City's wall is a must, so is the Citidel. You can walk to everything. Enjoy your trip.

Parking
You don't need a car to have a great time in Quebec City. But if you drive there, the self-parking at the Frontenac was 26 per day. However, there are several underground parking lots just a few blocks away (you can't miss them) that averaged about 16-18 per day. You'll be walking around alot anyway so park your car and enjoy.
Treated Like Royalty! An Excellent Experience!
This hotel makes one feel like royalty, especially as it is a former castle! You're in awe from the moment you enter the courtyard. The staff greets you warmly, and the ambience of the lobby makes you feel at home right away. Our room on the 24th floor was amazing as it had the feel of ones own bedroom! One of the first things my wife and I noticed was how quiet it was. You cannot hear any noise from the other rooms. Our view was of the St Laurence and made for fantastic pictures. When you step away from the hotel and see it at a distance you thing to yourself "Wow! I'm staying there?" The hotel is REALLY impressive. When you read other reviews that you really don't need a car - believe it! Old Quebec city streets, shops, restaurants, museums, historic churches, the Parliament, etc are all within walking distance. Self parking is $* per day, but you can go in and out all day long should you decide to venture further around Quebec City. For none French speaking tourists, we had absolutely no problems with the staff at the hotel or at other venues as everyone was very fluid in English. One we noted is how kind everyone was there! The hotel staff made us feel like we were the most important people in the world! The store merchants, waiters/waitresses, and even the guests at the hotel were extremely friendly. As a US citizen, we really felt at ease. If at least once in your lifetime you want to experience royalty, I HIGHLY recommend La Chateau Frontenac.
Le Chateau Frontenac
Second time to stay at the Frontenac - it's a great hotel in the best location of Old Quebec City. We esp. enjoy having the pool and terrace to enjoy the summer sun (when its sunny - which isn't a guarantee in this part of N. America). A great old world hotel well worth the extra $$$. A, a concierge staff member, was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for dinner and things to do around the city. If you're visiting this summer (2009), be sure to check out the free Cirque du Soleil performance under the highway at 9 pm. Also the 10 pm Moulin d'Images show by the marina is worth checking out (also free).
Great weekend in Quebec
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Construction was going on in front of the hotel, at the entrance, which was annoying. The breakfast buffet was great. Location was great you can walk everywhere, we did not use our car at all. The weather was cold but Quebec is a beautiful place and the hotel is elegant.
Visiting Quebec
It was a wonderfull experience, the hotel is beautifull, the staff is very corteous and gave us all the information we needed, they booked our tour in spanish, they helped us with our travel directions, since we were driving, it is a very cordial ambiance. We surely recomend this hotel, has everything you need, they go to the minor detail to serve you, and they do it very well. All of the staff speaks french and english, so dont worry if you dont know french, they will understand your english inmediately.
