Not what I was expecting

Daniel M. from Ensenada, MX – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Apr 2009, 3 days

This hotel is located between the airport and the central city of Acapulco and is very secluded. There are no other hotels close by and no restaurants close by and it would be necessary to take a taxi everywhere you go if you don't rent a car. When I checked in I noticed that the room was clean and quite nice but no iron and when you travel your clothes could use a little attention. No clock--alarm. You can not drink the water from the tap and if you do, you probably can plan on spending hours next to the commode! There are bottles of water for sale in the room. 8 ounce for about $3.75. The breakfast buffet is terrible and costs about $21.00 The onion soup is great but that is abut it. The hotel staff is fantastic and very friendly-helpful! Too bad they work in a less than average place. The pool's are small and there is no beach to hang out on. I have stayed in Acapulco no less than 30 times at several different hotels but the one I like was booked and this one was close to the golf course where I was playing in a tourney. Anywhere you go there are stairs you have to climb so if you have problems walking up and down stairs all day, do not stay here. The front desk gave me a room with an adjoining door for the next room. I HEARD EVERYTHING THE COUPLE WERE DOING AND SAYING VERY CLEARLY. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT GET ONE OF THESE ROOMS........ Will not stay here again even if it was for free. Taxi fee to airport 15 minutes away----- $25.00--- PRETTY HIGH. TO DOWNTOWN-----15 MINUTES AWAY----$30.00----VERY HIGH. THINK ABOUT IT HARD BEFORE YOU STAY HERE.........

Too Expensive for what you get

OCTAVIO M. from ACWORTH, GA – Wouldn't stay again
Stayed Apr 2009, 3 days

Pros: Great views Nice set of pools Acceptable Service Hamburgers are good Cons Has the smallest (probably 15 meteres wide) beach in the world and full of jelly fish Food is extremely expensive Food is terrible (one morning the orange juice was fermented, another day the apple pie was frozen) If you really like the beach, go to the hotels next to ""revolcaderoB4s beach"", the beach was so small that sometimes the sea level reached the resting area. Far away from all great places to go (In the middle of the old and new Acapulco). For what you pay, better go to the nice hotels next to the ""revolcaderoB4s beach"", they have better beaches, food and service. DonB4t go If you are traveling with a handicaped, an old person or a pregnant woman because it is located in the side of a hill so you have to go up and down all the time. (hundreds of stairs)

A nice hotel for a relaxing holiday

Anonymous from Babson Park, MA – Would stay again
Stayed Nov 2008, 7 days

My girlfriend and I spent a week in this hotel. The hotel itself was good, the rooms were big, there were a few pools and a small private beach. The food was good as well. However, there were a lot of children which made the time on the beach not too relaxing. Also, the internet was extremely expensive and slow. Another problem is that the hotel is far away from pretty much everything. There are some good restaurants 5 minutes away by taxi, I would recomend Becco. All in all a good hotel if you are looking to get plenty of rest.

Good for a Quiet Getaway

Anonymous from Sewell, NJ – Would stay again
Stayed Feb 2008, 7 days

We upgraded our room to a Camino Club room upon arrival at the hotel. This includes a room with a bay view, the breakfast buffet, 2-hour cocktail hour in the evening, robes, cookies in the afternoon , and a concierege service (which we did not utilise). Initially, we were assigned a room in close proximity to the construction site next door, but the front desk changed it with no problem.\nThe setting is beautiful, there are plenty of chairs (both in sun & shade) at the 3 pools, the hotel & grounds are clean & well-kept. The beach area is very small and private. The food at the hotel is fresh and well prepared, however it is boring, bland, and overpriced. The drinks are expensive if you drink outside the free club cocktail hour. Located in the Diamante district, cab fares to town or outside restaurants are a minimum $ 20.00 each way using the taxis at the hotel. We arranged for a private driver during our stay negotiating our itinerary and prices beforehand. At any rate, taxi costs (should you wish to travel anywhere outside the hotel ) will be considerable. Our room (#517) had an on-going problem with air conditioning failure throughout our stay, however it was always promptly resolved.\nThe employees are courteous and aim to please. Some have a better command of English than others. The hotel is popular with Mexican nationals from Mexico City seeking a week-end escape, and the hotel does host business gatherings. If you are seeking a quiet getaway in a location that is remote from downtown Acapulco this is a good choice. If you are looking for pumped-up action and activites, seek another venue.

Su Casa Restaurant

This is a beautiful restaurant in the hills of Old Acapulco with a spectacular view. The food is excellent and well-prepared. The service is top-notch. We spent $ 105 US for dinner for 2, and left $ 25 for tip.
Type:Area Attractions Distance: Requires transportation

Cliff Divers

Entrance to see the famous cliff divers is 35 pesos ($ 3.50) per person. You can sit in a stand that will provide you with the same perspective as the well-known restaurant (which charges much more for drinks/dinner/diver show), or you can walk down many steps and view the divers from a lower viewing area. In the evening the cliffs are dramatically lighted and the last diver plunges into the sea with lit torches. It is a unique and thrilling spectacle.
Type:Dining Distance: Requires transportation

Los Flamingoes

If you have done any research on Acapulco, you have probably read about this hotel/restaurant, famous for it's association with Johhny Weismuller and other "Old Hollywood" notables. It is located high on a cliff and provides a colorful and retro-Mexico ambiance. The famous drink to enjoy here is a "Coco Loco", which contains mucho alcohol.\nThe food is tasty, especially the Garlic Shrimp and the Fish Veracruz. The setting provides wonderful photo opportunites. While we enjoyed lunch here, it is said that the sunset views from the restaurant are fantastic.
